Matala BioSteps II

Progressive filtration for koi ponds and water gardens

The Matala BioSteps II combines mechanical and biological filtration in a compact, open-flow filter. Water moves across six progressively denser Matala pads, helping capture debris while providing a large surface area for beneficial bacteria.

Expandable design

The filter can be upgraded later with a compatible Matala 16-watt EZClear UV clarifier or waterfall spillway.

Installation note

This is an open-flow, gravity-return filter and must be installed so water can flow freely back to the pond. This listing is for the base BioSteps II filter. Pump, UV clarifier, waterfall spillway, plumbing, and optional drain valve are not included unless specifically stated.

Pond capacity is a general sizing guideline. Actual performance depends on fish load, feeding, pond depth, pump flow, maintenance, and environmental conditions.
